Douglas M. Kennedy

Mr. Kennedy represents management in all types of employment related matters, employee benefits questions, regulatory compliance with federal, state and local agencies and with litigation in state and federal courts. His clients include a broad spectrum of employers ranging from closely held corporations, family owned businesses and Fortune 500 companies. He provides counsel in such areas as hiring, firing and discipline of employees, and also defends employers in court or before government agencies.

Experience

• Represents management in all areas of labor and employment law including litigation
• Deals with issues such as wrongful discharge, intentional torts, sexual, racial and disability based discrimination and harassment, severance, employment and non-compete agreements, workers' compensation claims and Violation of Specific Safety Requirement (VSSR) investigations, and claims involving the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA),  the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Ohio Civil Rights Commission (OCRC), The Industrial Commission of Ohio, and the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation
• Litigated cases in over 50 of Ohio's 88 counties as well as in federal courts throughout Ohio
